I watched his video when he released it and rewatched it this week and although there will be very few true tier points runners like him, it's not a good look that people can clearly take the mickey out of the airlines scheme. I'm sure they'll have paid attention, as will the consultants being paid for "fresh ideas". The old scheme was generous, and had loopholes, but the double tier points on BAH was the biggest contributor to lounge crowding. Not one scruffy unemployed man filming in his bedroom, gaming the system for a literally a few pounds of YouTube revenue.
He released a very angry reaction video this week complete with childish snooty "toffee-nosed" accent when reading out the email from BA. Of course he's angry, he has lost his one KSP, he's not a very impressive vlogger or flight reviewer.
I'm actually pretty angry at him. I blame people like him.
In the middle of this there are people like me who booking economy long hauls for work, so without Saturday stays, paying in excess of £1200 or £1300 for economy returns to the US, spending a lot more and getting a lot less. If it wasn't for some careful planning, some W travel and some partner routings, I wouldn't be silver. I think I'm probably about as likely to requalify silver as I was before but I'd have to spend more of my travel "all-in" on BA and less on CX, JL and QR and I don't think I want to that right now.
