ALX400 has kindly sent photos of masts north of Bolton. If you look carefully at two of the shots you can just make out some metallic non-hominoid simians hobbling away clutching themselves.

Latest rumours say mid-July according to post #6357, not rubbished in subsequent discussion.

At an IET lecture at Preston on 07th February given by the senior engineer on the Preston - Blackpool project, it was stated that it would be August 2018! It's at the May 2018 timetable change for Preston to Blackpool

That seems plausible. Perhaps we should go for the December timetable change for tidiness?
The really sad thing is we are about to wind down electrification so all these hard learned lessons will have been forgotten when we re-start.
