I don't know but Coulsdon North is one case. Not sure if you'd call it "inner" but it was certainly part of the EPB-operated inner-suburban network.

Wasn't the service to/from Coulsdon North until the 1980s routinely provided using SUBs? Given that the last 4SUB unit left Coulsdon North on the 08.13 to Victoria on Thurs 25th August 1983, after which the CN depot closed, and until closure on Fri 30th September 1983, services were provided by Selhurst depot using EPBs and the odd main line unit.

Possibly; I have the 1982 CWN and most services were EPB, with the odd SUB and the odd VEP/CIG. The 0813 was one of the small number of SUB workings, though.

Slightly more SUBs in 1981 (I also have this CWN), maybe around 50/50.
