Nothing will happen even when the particles are colliding, the process happens in nature (the earth's atmosphere) all the time, and no black holes have been spotted yet, so the world is safe .... for now!

Apparently if a black hole does form, it will disintergrate within a billionth of a milisecond or something.

What gets me is that the swiss are so fussy about noise, they ban loud cars, so when I heard them trying to recreate the big bang!

Wheres my coat...

Because of the progress that was made today they are looking into the possibility that they could make the first collision tomorrow. If not, they reckon that it could possibly done within the next few days which is way ahead of schedule.
They were amazed at how much progress was made today and they are now looking to get as much done before the project is shut down for the winter. Apparently, and this isn't a joke, electricity in the area costs too much at winter time so it isn't viable to run the thing.

They have said that the first collision will be done at full speed
