Christ it's a bit Sesame Street really, I heavily doubt anything will happen on the scale of a black hole. For a start to create a significant black hole would need an incredible amount of energy, one which I doubt we have the technology to re-create in a machine such as the LHC.

I dont think that the black holes that could form are the type that we know are in the galaxy. I believe they are "miniature" ones that collapse in on themselves within microseconds so there was never actually anything to worry about.
Saying this, I actually have no clue what I am talking about so like I said earlier, this thread went a bit daft previously so there is no point even going there.

I don't really subscribe to doomsday theories at all, but I generally say "Don't knock it until the date has passed".
The only firm guarentee for 2012CE thus far is that our Government will almost certainly turn the next Olympic Games into a millenial c***-up...

I just took a peek at the amusing Hadron Rap video above, and it was only then that I realised the Hadron Collider looks to be just another particle accellerator like several others that have been built and operated around the EU over the years (If not a little bigger...)

In which case I can't see how anyone could've gotten worried about any Black Holes forming or anything like that in the first place...Simply because that accellerator would have probabally had some serious difficulty trying to move the particles in question anywhere near the speed of light, and - In atomic terms - A collision at very low speeds like that won't even affect an atoms no-claims bonus! :roll:8)

Incidentally...I'm now wondering if that thing might just have a large enough transit to accommodate and transport a 5' 7" human...

I've fought the axis of evil from a plane, waged war on invading aliens on mystic galactic rings, collected gold shiny things dressed in blue and rescued princesses at the same time and fought pirate to pirate in epic battles in the clouds.. I'm sure a 370 won't harm me
