All locations as a minimum provide seating, heat and light, hot drink provision, toilets, washing facilities and food heating.

There's a few nice messrooms that are generally hidden away from the world, Sleaford and Spalding being two! :)

Does every driver get a copy of the WON? I wonder if it's the same WON we get (ie lists all the possessions and their limits too)

All traincrew (drivers and guards) should have a copy of the WON (and PON) made available to them, usually in a booking on point. Obviously they will vary by region, broadly speaking there is no need for guys based in Kent to be told about the engineering arrangements in Glasgow, but we all have them.

They might be different to what P-Way and S&T guys get though, I've never seen any of their publications.

At my place, we get monitored from time to time, and the manager that does it always asks for the current WON. Once I got caught out - but the manager let me off because I had the up-to-date PON!!

I must admit i do carry an up to date WON most of the time. We get asked on a ride out if we have one but would not be expected to prove it. PONs are far too heavy.

I recall a situation on privatisation where there was a station with a Messroom, so the "owner" tried to charge other TOCs for using it.

The only time they can charge is if they post notices for the other TOC & their staff are based there. Just to have their PNB does not count & is a free for all.
