What is the reason for the traffic slowness on the M60 high-level bridge that you refer to above? How long do they turn the swing bridge for at a time these days? I suppose a crawl over the M60 high-level bridge......

That would be congestion. What is the reason for the traffic slowness on the M60 high-level bridge that you refer to above?
How far in both directions from the high-level bridge does this congestion occur? Is it anything to do with any long-running roadworks? That would be congestion.
It's always been very busy, widening hasn't made that much difference. Remember the high-level means exactly that so long approach ramps either side which are almost guaranteed to snarl up with HGVs. Standstills are less common but heavy going is a regular experience. Tends to be the same story on similar bridges through much of Europe. How far in both directions from the high-level bridge does this congestion occur? How would you re-route it between Eccles and Trafford that wouldn't just end up in more traffic?I caught the 100 last year (the 13.30 Shudehill to Warrington) whilst the bus left Eccles on time, the bus got delayed by the time we reached the Trafford Centre, because of the traffic was very heavy down Barton Road & past the swing bridge, why i suggested rerouting the 100 away from that area.
The only thing that I've seen publicised is a very minor change to some morning peak journeys on the 35.Do I assume that the usual summer reductions that Stagecoach used to do quite widely in south Manchester have not been perpetuated under the Bee Network?
But that sees a reduction from four buses/hour (15 minute service) to three buses/hour (20 minute service).Quite common these days - allows for longer journeys times without increasing the vehicle requirement for the service.
I saw something about this on x.... Link here https://news.tfgm.com/press-release...ee-round-the-clock-bus-travel-from-1st-augustBut that sees a reduction from four buses/hour (15 minute service) to three buses/hour (20 minute service).

I am 80 years of age and in my inbox, there is an email from TfGM (Bee Network) stating that holders of TfGM-issued ENCTS passes and disabled passes in the month of August 2025 can travel free on Bee Network administered bus services in the Monday to Friday pre-0930 embargoed time. It states this does not apply to passes issued by other authorities.
Has anyone else on this thread with a TfGM-issued pass received such an email?
Yes, looking forward to may 24-hour free travel! Ends the end of August but I understand it's experimental and may be extended. Not to bothered about the morning peak cut-off but would like the national weekday 11pm (midnight in Gtr Manchester) cut-off extended until 2am, so that young old night-owls like me can get home! Very few would use it I suppose, but then again extending wouldn't be that much of a loss - the majority would use it at weekends anyway so they "accept" the loss there, and it would put all of England under one system.I saw something about this on x.... There's already a Disabled Plus version of the pass which isn't time restricted.I a'm surprised TfGM issued disabled ECNTS passes are time restricted in the GM area, were as on Merseyside, the Merseytravel equivalent doesn't have any time restrictions.
I do hope that all the drivers will be fully aware that today, 1st August is the start date of the one month trial.Yes, looking forward to may 24-hour free travel! Anyone travelling with Stagecoach 125 may find their card not accepted until 9.30am or after 11pm anyway, I've come across a service where the machine (and driver) won't accept my card after 11pm but before 12!I do hope that all the drivers will be fully aware that today, 1st August is the start date of the one month trial.
The 125 is not a Bee Network service, is it? The one month trial only applies to Bee Network services.Anyone travelling with Stagecoach 125 may find their card not accepted until 9.30am or after 11pm anyway, I've come across a service where the machine (and driver) won't accept my card after 11pm but before 12!
Thanks for that clarification. No, the trial is on all bus journeys within Greater Manchester but only for TfGM issued ENCTS passes https://tfgm.com/tickets-and-passes/discounted-and-free-travel/concession/trial
Surely it's a Greater Manchester thing, and the trains have to accept them and they're not BeeNetwork? I've never had any issues using my pass on trains run by Northern between 11 and 12pm regardless of "trial" periods? The 125 runs between Bolton and the boundary at Horwich. The 125 is not a Bee Network service, is it? The one month trial only applies to Bee Network services.
- Passes also accepted before 9.30am on non-Bee Network buses within the Greater Manchester boundary only.
It's just there still from when the network was commercial. Stagecoach had the 360 as a commercial placement trip to save the bus running all the way to Hayfield not in service, and the 358 takes an extra 10 minutes than the 360.Does anyone know if there's a particular reason the 360 route exists? It runs only in one direction, only at 5:20am on weekday mornings.
It seems to be used to get a bus from Stockport in place for the first run of the day on the 358 from Hayfield. But the 360 only seems to be a few minutes shorter than the 358 anyway, so why not just run that move as a 358? Indeed the last 358 of the day does return from Hayfield as a 358 not a 360.
Night bus services on the 343 would be one heck of an improvement!Similarly, the 343 Oldham - Hyde says
343 - Bus Service Changes
Run by Bee Network. We are introducing new late night/early morning journeys from Thursday night/Friday morning to Saturday night/Sunday morning. This change is in place until further notice.
More information and advice which takes you to the leaflet which says
"We’re making changes to the times of all journeys to improve reliability."
After all it is only a daily daytime route!!
