We can forgive him that because One Foot In The Grave is truly superb.

The program was funny but Richard Wilson was simply delivering lines written by a true comic genious. Any comedy actor with half an ounce of talent can seem funny given the right material. Observe Richard Wilson on any panel/chat show (or indeed railway documentary) and you'll be able to judge how (un)funny he is when left to his own devices.

That is probably something to do with the fact that he is a comic Actor (which, in spite of what you say, is actually quite a tallent) and not a stand up.

I have to say, I always found it about as funny as a road accident.

Well, comedy is always going to be subjective, but I would class it as one of the best examples of farce since Fawlty Towers, and like all of the best comedies, it had some quite touching moments of pathos.

Filming is going to take place in March. I'm at Uni in Durham and last week they were asking for students who were going to be embarking on a "special journey" at the time of filming and who'd like to appear in the programme.

I'll have to keep an eye out for that then...I am going to be visiting Newcastle for the day in March

I also get the impression that the editors have looked at the shots of trains accelerating and decelerating that they have - and just put a random noise with it!
I've heard a 350 at Piccadilly, a 323 noise for a 185 and a Pendolio at Euston sounding like a diesel!

I've turned up precisely 23 hours 45 minutes late before, also accidentally booked a hotel for four nights instead of three. All too easily done on internet menus, one slip of the finger/mouse... A pity about the unfortunate woman who missed the last train by a minute because of the ticket office queue (we've been discussing that in another thread) but these things do happen.

I must say, the staff came across really well this episode.

The Great British Public? Less so. I couldn't picture myself being as rude as some of the James Hunts (see what I did there? ) that they've featured on these episodes. Really gets on my nerves. They should just go away and run a car instead.

Speaking as a regular commuter I am afraid to say that you do not need editing to make some passengers look like whinging gits - the can manage that all on their own.
