Bars on St Pancras?

Thinking of the fast train St P > Stratford. Any good bars (I suppose real ale is too much of an ask) on (or adjacent to) the station that aren't after security for Eurostar?

For real ale (Fullers) try the "Parcel Yard" pub on Kings Cross station which is on the opposite side of the road on the east side of St. Pancras station which is the same side of St. Pancras station that SE trains via HS1 use or about a couple of minutes walk..!

Or you could try the newish "the Parcel Yard" pub across the road at Kings Cross station. Good, elevated, interior view of the train shed from one of the bars. Fullers real ales plus guest beers.

Guite fond of the Betjeman Arms - Nice to sit out back and watch the Eurostars coming in and out before a ride on a 125.

The Euston Tap five minutes away is also good (as is the Cider Tap opposite).

The Parcel Yard is a pleasant place to spend a while and the Fullers' ales always seem to be in excellent condition, but it also costs a fortune for a pint, even relative to "London prices" elsewhere in the vicinity.

Of the two, I prefer the Betjeman Arms on St Pancras itself, though that's not to denigrate the quality of The Parcel Yard, just the prices.

Must admit that "The Parcel Yard" is nice but expensive.. I have found drinking and eating on St. Pancras station is also expensive so would tend to avoid it.
There are two pubs near Euston station that I visited with a group from this forum but cannot remember the names of the pubs.!.

The Bree Louise isn't cheap either... but the 50p a pint CAMRA discount certainly helps....

I'll be honest, I don't think the Parcel Yard is any more expensive than the Betjeman. They both charge premium prices for a premium location, but £4 a pint for central London isn't as bad as it could be. Fuller's don't charge more in the Parcel Yard than they do in their pubs around Covent Garden (although the Doric Arch is cheaper than the Parcel Yard, tbf)

There are loads of good pubs around Euston but not so many around St Pancras. Depends how far you want to walk!

Well, the quickest way is down the stairs on the hotel forecourt and up Pancras Road, but I do see how negotiating those stairs could be a challenge

Yes indeed!! Although Belgians over here will be having a good laugh at the puny strength of our beers *he says with plenty of experience of proper flemish trappist beers*

Well St Pancras does have the world's longest champagne bar. Why that's something worth shouting about I don't know.

Directly opposite St P is a passage by a library. It leads to The Dolphin, an Irish pub that doesn't really look like one and it does excellent Thai food.

The problem is if you buy a pint of bitter at the Parcel Yard you are paying way more than £4.00, more like £4.40 for a pint of Pride. And in all fairness with the exception of a 'Spoons you are not going to get a cheap pint in Covent Garden.

I'd imagine one is the Doric Arch outside euston. Nice pub and lots of railway memorabilia.
