That is certainly what passed here around 0830!!
We had heard they may be "improvements" later this year.
Ooh, please tell what these improvements are
Personally, I would keep the morning diagram for the 1st set the same, but swap the evening diagram with the 1621 departure (1510 from Swansea). The set can work the 1314 Cardiff - Swansea instead of the DMU off the 0830 Llandudno - Cardiff to get it into postition. The DMU can then be used as said below. I would introduce an additional call at Prestatyn in both directions, and extend the 1621 to Holyhead from Chester, calling at Rhyl, Llandudno Junction and Bangor. People for Flint/Prestatyn/Colwyn Bay can use the following Voyager.
I would have a second set leave Holyhead at 0150 like the old boat train used to before VT pulled the plug, and have it call Holyhead - Bangor - Llandudno Junction - Rhyl - Chester - Crewe - Shrewsbury - Hereford - Abergavenny - Newport - Cardiff Central, then return to Holyhead in the place of the 0721, calling at the stations it does now, excluding the North Wales Coast request stops, which can be picked up by the 0850 Manchester - Holyhead. This set can then work the 1232 Holyhead - Cardiff train, but not stopping at the Anglesey request stops it does as these can be picked up by the 1127 Holyhead - Birmingham. The Cardiff-Maesteg portion can then be picked up by the DMU from the 0830 Llandudno - Cardiff. The Loco hauled set can then work the 1721 Cardiff - Holyhead calling at the same stations as the 1821 does now, plus Prestatyn. The 1821 can then be worked by the DMU off the current 1721. Also, the 0830 Llandudno - Cardiff can call additionally at Hereford & Abergavenny.
