I have my DMI in a few days
Can anyone give me information on how I can prepare myself?
I had mine and I would recommend learning the TPWS and pretty much recite it to them during the interview. I would also recommend learning routes that pass through the depo you're applying for as well as what traction they use and all the operating trains names.
I would also read up on day in the life of a train driver (plenty can be found on this forum) and general information on Southeastern (I just stated the facts such as number of employees, how many journeys they do, how many miles of track they cover etc) it would also be good if you can add any initiatives that Southeastern was part of in terms of any station improvements etc or search up on any awards they may have won recently.
they have also asked me about ways of working / core values on which I did not read up much and was caught out so might be worth reading up on that too.
Definitely prepare some answers for the questions from the core questions bank they sent out as 2 or 3 may pop up during the interview.
I think generally they have asked me about the information that was pretty much sent out to me when I received the invitation for the interview.
Good luck with your interview
