As far as I know Heighington and Aycliffe and not been connected for several years.
I'm hearing the 16 in its current form is cancelled - also mentions of evening and Sunday journeys to Mowden on the current 17.
The 10 and X86 were tendered as one contract by the TVCA - Arriva won it technically by default as Stagecoach had already won too many contracts in money terms.
Are you sure that's right? I don't think they can limit suppliers like that.
Yes - Stagecoach's 12 awarded contracts totalled more than £5million threshold allowed until the Procurement Act 2023.

When the 16 was withdrawn in its previous form at the end of 2012, it still carried onto Aycliffe via Heighington at the start/end of the day but was curtailed at West Park in 2015 (still actually a timetable for the Aycliffe bound trip in a timetable case in School Aycliffe under a covid notice) - meanwhile at the same time, Central Coaches launched a commercial 116 service between Heighington and Newton Aycliffe Mon-Fri off peak, this lasted a year then was ran by JSB Travel for a few months before it was merged with the other Aycliffe town service 17/18 into its current form.
Latest I have heard from people who should actually know what is happening:-
It's a shame as the boundary on the moors is rather ill defined (I think it's near Scaling Dam?) while on the coast it means there's not an easy connection to the likes of Saltburn which get a fair few visitors. Staithes is at least (just!) within North Yorkshire proper but if they were desperate to cut the boundary I'd probably have suggested Saltburn/Guisborough - both are places someone staying on the coast in or between Whitby and Scarborough would have plausibly wanted to visit (which I suppose is part of the rationale behind especially the 3 day ticket).

If you read it, most seem to be about traffic and improving punctuality, along with an improvement for some students finishing school.
I don't think it is entirely as you'd see more changes with the 63 and 64 but they might be moving a couple of boards to Whitby in advance, hence the extra early morning runs and the extension of one evening run to Whitby.
Is the power now fully sorted at Blyth? I understood they were restricted to three in service per day, tracking suggests nine are out today.
Yes my understanding is they’ve got them all sorted and should be up to full strength now
