Yeah my initial post was via a Tamworth driver who said it wasn't the 110, but I've since seen the video myself...

I'll keep my thoughts on this one to myself.
To be fair I’d heard a similar story, yeah it’s quite serious.
What are you searching on Facebook to find these videos as I can't see anything other than the usual drivel of "auditors" standing outside the cordon moaning about how the decay of the UK is why this is happening and AI voiced news reports?

Found it, that was awful. Hope driver and all the pax were okay.

Looked like they were smashing the bus up at points, hopefully it's not too badly bashed up also.

3175 appears to not have tracked since the 10th

On a more positive note, 3 more MMCs have arrived for Derby. Photo sent to me so not sure on registrations

I can imagine the nearest one being YY76 HJA, given 3179 is YY76 HHU

Could it have been impounded by the police as part of the investigation or did it make it back to Tamworth?

I tried working it out from Bustimes but couldn't work out which bus it was at the time.

Looks like 3175, although bustimes says 2164, but that bus had been double tracking all day.

What was the date of the incident?

3175 Last tracked as the 1925 110 off Birmingham on the 10th but the posts I saw said the incident happened at about 2230.

I saw the posts on Facebook on Tuesday so assumed it was Monday night, but maybe that isn't the case.

Quite a few disposals this month at Tamworth. These include most versas leaving only 4 left 3743, 3022 and more surprisingly 3795.

Yes it was 3175 yy76hhp double tracking as yx26jzv. It was on Tuesday on the last 110 back to Tamworth. I assume it is probably held out of service either at the depot or by the police. maybe for forensics and photos if not definitely the cctv footage.

What is the reason for 3795 going?

I thought it hadnt long been repainted.
It had the engine swapped not long ago as well but apparently it’s rotten chassis according to the disposal list.
The reason for 3743 was no nsa equipment which is fair as it’s fairly old.

How much money does it cost a operator to fit nsa equipment to say those versas, I'm guessing alot of there willing to just scrap it as its not worth the time or money

After I worked at Arriva I worked at a small operator for a bit it cost them around £1500 per system but that was about 3 years ago now and I’d imagine Arriva would get a discount for larger orders. So I’d imagine it would still be around that mark.
3743 was ok but there’s no saying what it’s like chassis wise. The versas had extensive work done to them at Shrewsbury a couple of years ago and it’s only really the decent ones left now.

A couple of the Versas have had NSA fitted which surprised me, I thought they would all be going before the Pulsars.

Same here but it depends on the mechanical state of the pulsars.

Most (if not all) of the versas in Leicester have been retrofitted with an orange LED screen and speakers despite only having around 6 months left here.

IIRC one operator was quoted around 2.5-3k per bus for a simple screen and 4 speakers plus fitting.

Have the operators been given any financial assistance from the government for fitting NSA equipment?

For those who mostly read this for details of routes, but still like to know what's going on, what's NSA equipment?

Ok, I've never come across them being called "NSA equipment", despite working with iBus and its predecessors for over a decade.

Probably just an abbreviation that has come about recently, I have no idea if it's used in any official sense.

There is footage on a Birmingham TV Facebook page of a knife fight on an Arriva bus. We aren't talking little knives either. I won't put a link on.

Credit to the police and CCTV operators, they were all caught very soon after the event.

Just a shame that they will no doubt get little more than a slap on the wrist.
