I would imagine it's because of cost and that they'd be required to change the advertising (further cost) when there are changes etc. Plus for things like route maps etc that restricts the bus to a certain route.

But certainly some bus companies do well at branding - just don't think it's (ever?) been Arriva's forte?
I wouldn't go as far as route branding, just some advertising for the network, especially for the x38 for getting to Derby Royal hospital and Burton. It could even be placed so that it didn't interfere with the advertising spaces. The electronic adverts that the Solo SRs had when new were very good, but it was something that didn't seem to last.

Might have been mentioned, but how many E200 MMCs are Tamworth getting?

I've just been on one, nice enough for what they are, but the next stop announcements are far too quiet, same as on the Citaros, my hearing is fine and I was struggling to hear it, which begs the question, what is the point of it?

Thats strange since the Shrewsbury Evoras have quite loud announcements that mispronounce everything!

Supposed to be 8 e200 mmc’s in total and so far they have 4
And yes especially if the windows are open you just can’t hear the announcements at all they are very quiet.

I can't comment on the pronunciation as I can't hear 90% of the announcements, they could be saying anything!
Here in Derby its the same, if you're lucky enough to catch a pulsar or gemini with working NSA on board, it's usually far too quiet and even the quietest ambience can drown out the audio. (I can't really comment on the streetlites as I've never ridden one)

I can only assume whoever made the decision on volume level has never actually travelled on a bus.

The Streetlites vary considerably. Some are clearly audible but others aren't. Some also have have a habit of saying Next Stop, but nothing else...

There was a Streetlite working service 2, Derby - Swadlincote on Saturday. Perhaps a last minute replacement but not very appealing for such a service!

It only did 2 trips, but I’ve known drivers purposefully swap Scanias & VDLs for a StreetLite purely for the better headlights.

But what appeal are you talking about? I mean a bus actually turning up is the only appeal a service needs, unless you’re an enthusiast & majority of the general public are not, meaning they don’t care what colour, or make the bus is.

Have most of the VDLs and Gemini's at Derby been fitted with next stop announcements/displays? Think the Gemini's are staying until they break, even if they move to other garages, but assume some of the VDLs will be withdrawn with new buses due in the next couple of months.

At the glacial pace Arriva are fitting the nest stop announcement kit, most of the geminis will have died before being fitted!

Bus times suggests 4219 is on loan to Luton.

Don't they have the information screens fitted from the star trak days?

Saw 3108 YX17 NMJ in Leicester City Centre today, looked to me like it was in the darker shade of blue. Apologies if it has been mentioned already
