NW Leicestershire MP Amanda Hack has announced that the service LC16 will be extended: the first journey of the day towards Loughborough will now begin in Measham and run via Moira, while the penultimate return journey will also be extended to Measham.

well the hopper contract ends soon so they’ll be 8 surplus ADLs, 11 B9s so could see the majority off, despite the flaws I do like the.

My judgement a few weeks ago was correct anyway, the 903/906 will be going electric, not sure why the 901 isn’t, the 904 is also being withdrawn.

Just seen on Facebook that underground cables are being installed to Tamworth depot at the end of this month. (Letter posted to residents from national grid) hopefully the new electric busses will arrive shortly afterwards.

With regards to the upcoming Leicestershire service changes, it's also worth noting that the upcoming variation to the 127 curiously doesn't have the 127A listed on it.
Most likely an 11kv circuit being installed. There needs to be a transformer installed at the depot to drop the 11kv down to mains voltage, plus all of the charging infrastructure within the depot. Certainly a positive step to fleet modernisation but I'd assume its a fair few months away from being able to charge electric buses
It puts to bed some of the rumours posted earlier in this thread, that's for sure.

Yes still along way to go unfortunately. They did install some infrastructure at the depot until they found out that they didn’t have enough supply capacity (I’m unsure how far they got) but hopefully works will resume. Even after the charging infrastructure is installed they still have to do driver training and various tests on them to see how they can work best for what they need. But it’s definitely a big step forward depending on if it all goes to plan you never know with national grid and Arriva.
Yes, for Arriva in particular Derby has a modern and fair sized depot. They also have the repair centre there too. At the moment electrification depends on depot profits and government grants.
A modern depot? It was built in 1949!

Some service 8 journeys are diverted to serve Three Pots which look to replace the section being cut.
Interesting that the 127 will now use Alan Moss Road instead of Blackbrook Road then via Brown's Lane and Baxter Gate on buses towards Leicester.
Unfortunately no big changes that will improve the reliability of services around the South Leicestershire areas.

The town centre rerouting I don't understand at all. That's the route that got dropped by the 16 two years ago when its inbound route was changed to match that of the 127.
Having buses travelling through High Street and Baxter Gate in both directions will be confusing for passengers, and the bus stands on both streets, especially the latter, are already overcrowded (having been exacerbated when the LC5/5X and LC8 (previously the 27/27X and the 8 respectively) had their stands moved to stand BC). Buses to Shepshed are already frequently unable to use stand BC due to other parked buses. Furthermore, stand BD, which is to be used by the rerouted Leicester-bound journeys, is only marginally closer to Loughborough town centre than Stand LB, the service's closest equivalent stand.
The Thorpe Hill rerouting is understandable, though. I think it would be better for Kinchbus's service 5 to run via Blackbrook Road rather than the 127.

Never thought I'd be excited to seen an E200, but given the state of the fleet at Tamworth, I can't wait!
Great news! I’m guessing they’ve borrowed 4562 to train the drivers on camera mirrors. Where I last worked we had to be trained on the new busses with camera mirrors. This basically consisted of a short PowerPoint and quiz then a couple hours with a driver mentor.| Richard Yoxall | 14 comments

It’s most likely a spare ticket machine they’ve put on another bus as that bus used to be at Tamworth nearly 2 years ago for a short time before being converted.
Happens a few times seen something track as Yj61feg and the e400ev in the past after they left.
However I haven’t seen in person so it’s possible although it’s unlikely that they would use a training bus that’s not theirs in passenger service.
In other news 3757 Mx59fgf has moved to Shrewsbury.

Unfortunately it wasn’t one of the new mmc’s and (edit) it turns out not to be 3806 that was going the other direction. However on Facebook a driver from Telford has said 3757 was swapped with 3022 back to Tamworth so it could be that if Telford kept the ticket machine.
