4427 is withdrawn; sister 4428, Arriva's last Interurban-liveried bus in Leicestershire, is now the oldest double-decker bus with Arriva in Leicestershire.
I'm shocked that one is still going, it pops its head up on the 31 sometimes and doesn't look or sound in great shape.

Finally drove 7102 this morning after its “refurb” including a new paint job, new engine, and that’s about it. It’s a bit of a shame that it’s being used whilst the exterior is unfinished, as there is meant to be some more branding included (like the big “A” that I mentioned, no clue if it’s meant to have the Arriva “swoops” either.)

Despite the new engine though, it had an Amber engine light. Honestly, pretty standard for these coaches from my experience. Something that threw me off though was the interior mirror just fell off… it looked like it had been stuck up with some superglue, so it’s honestly something that had been waiting to happen in all honesty. Apart from that, it’s pretty much just the standard Temsa!

Something that did make me go “why?” Was the way the offside has been painted, more specifically this part:IMG_8767.jpeg
In sunlight, you can see how the panel should be painted in terms of the black paint, and it was painted properly before, so it just seems a bit silly in my opinion!

Does anyone know when the Nottingham Uni Hopper contract is retendered? I think Arriva won it eight years ago now, so must be due?

Tamworth may give some joy in return. When the electric deckers finally arrive at some point maybe who knows. The 9 e400s with probably end up at derby or maybe MK. These are not in great shape but to be fair reliability has increased slightly lately.

I understand Derby is short of certain bus types...

At this rate those E400s will be life-expired by the time the new deckers arrive.

There is a couple of the E400s that spend most of their time on local routes, so Arriva clearly have trust issues!

Has there been any further news on the new electric deckers?

I do wonder if the 10 electroliners 8049-8058 at Thurmaston were originally destined for Tamworth?

They all arrived without branding and still months later are unbranded.

Sounds plausible, no idea if that was actually the case though.

Might have been mentioned already, but what electric deckers have Arriva ordered for Tamworth?

Electroliners would make the most sense to follow what Leicester have done as they could do transfers to and from the garages if needed without needing type training on a different type of electric. The only problem with that would be the difference in colour with Leicester using green and assuming the Tamworth ones will be in the journey mark (and maybe the newer darker shade?)

I did wonder if the BYD11 would at one point having seen images of one in the journey mark, however they are due at Durham apparently.

The E400EV was my initial thought and I’m sure others too after the demonstrator was used, however I wonder if it has put them off…

Now you've said that, I do remember so talk of the order being of BYD11s, not sure how much, if any truth was in it though.

When Arriva announced their bus orders a few back. There was 39 BYD electric deckers. 28 of them was due for the North East 14 for Blyth and 14 for Durham, there's still 11 BYDs to be unaccounted for. The only other depot due to be electrified in the regions was Tamworth.

Tamworth must be due the other 11 BYDs

I'd guess the darker one, although it's almost impossible to tell in certain light conditions. The slightly darker top is the giveaway for me here.

It looks like the darker paint to me, but it's easier to tell from the front as the vinyl swoosh stands out more on against the darker paint.
