I know nothing is running in passenger service but I heard a train horn this morning near Hayes and harlington. Just curious.
There'll be a lot of engineering trains and possibly some ECS or freight running I should imagine.

No passenger services running on GWR but drivers will be booking on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day to go in and start the HSTs up to prevent flat batteries and for defrosting purposes (should the temperature dip below zero!)
Sounds a waste of fuel and of costly overtime payment.
Could not a shore supply be used to keep batteries charged and engines warm ?
Thought I heard a train horn when I was walking home earlier, I'm just outside the centre of Doncaster. Didn't hear it come north though, and as it's fairly quiet outside I would expect to, could be something in the works I suppose?
There are a total of 25 engineering trains required on the Marshgate and Doncaster South S&C renewals sites throughout the course of both projects. It'd more than likely be one of these trains manoeuvring within the worksite.

What's actually happening at Doncaster this weekend ?
