http://www.transportbriefing.co.uk/news/story?id=7190Underground lines face conversion to light rail
Conversion of London Underground lines to light rail operation forms one of the conditions of Transport for London's funding settlement over the next four years. ...
Is this in regards to signalling or working practises or something fundamentally further?
Edit: Found a short reference somewhere else that Tfl has to migrate to using lighter tube rolling stock with reduced power consumption so savings can be made on line electrification equipment.
