The aforementioned Voyager-worked 14:30 Euston to Glasgow Central has also been capped at Preston.Updates:
14:49 HHD to EUS Cancelled due to shortage of train crew
15:02 EUS to HHD Cancelled due to shortage of train crew
Of the promised 5 direct trains only one or two two might run. The 17:02 Euston to Holyhead is still scheduled, but has three stops before Crewe.
15:32 Chester to Euston started from Crewe.
Transport for Wales (TfW) are not having the best day either. There is a signal boxed closed due to shortage of staff closing the Borderlands line. Several cancellations because "More than usual number of trains require repairs."
My (TfW) ride home will be delayed by six minutes. TfW cancled the original service and replaced it with an additional STP (Short Term Plan) Shrewsbury to Holyhead. It just left Prestatyn "on time"
There's a fire next to the track between Watford Junction and Willesden Junction that's causing the delays this evening.Who thought implementing a new timetable would be a good idea with the current staffing and train crew issues?
Several trains at Euston showing up as delayed. This is now a daily occurrence.

I was under the impression this was only affecting London Overground services? There's a fire next to the track between Watford Junction and Willesden Junction that's causing the delays this evening.
Wasn’t last week to be the last ever week of Voyager operation north of Preston? Clearly not happened! If RTT is correct, then the delayed 1616 from Euston to Edinburgh is a) 91 mins late, and b) a five car Voyager. That’ll be cosy if so! Looks like it’s going to head up the Trent valley and swerve Brum so that’ll free a bit of space up, but still..
Viewing the live departure board for SOT on the NRE website, thr following is shown above the departures:I was under the impression this was only affecting London Overground services?
Nothing on NRE or social media platforms stating it is affecting AWC or LNR services.
| The lifts are out of order between platform 1 and 2 and exit at Stoke-On-Trent station. | |
| Disruption between Watford Junction and Willesden Junction due to a fire next to the track. |
It was of course Avanti in various press briefings who stated that the full new timetable was deliverable because it was fully rostered. Days 1 & 2 seem to suggest otherwise. Avanti management need to be brought to account for their false promises made to the likes of the DfT, the mayors of Liverpool & Manchester & the travelling public.I don't know where we got the idea that the traincrew situation was suddenly going to change overnight! This company really is taking the proverbial aren't they?
You're right! Looks like it's just Avanti being peak Avanti as usual then.I was under the impression this was only affecting London Overground services?

No- 16:53 Preston to Glasgow Central and 20:06 Glasgow Central to Crewe still booked 2x221.Wasn’t last week to be the last ever week of Voyager operation north of Preston? Clearly not happened!
I assume these will be worked by Preston crews then up to GLC?No- 16:53 Preston to Glasgow Central and 20:06 Glasgow Central to Crewe still booked 2x221.
I believe Polmadie will no longer have any 221s stabling overnight though.
Is this every day? Was a 390 every day until last week!20:06 Glasgow Central to Crewe still booked 2x221.
I think it's Sunday to Friday (Strikes permitting of course!)Is this every day? Was a 390 every day until last week!
I don't know.I assume these will be worked by Preston crews then up to GLC?

Going back to 3tph Manchester was nuts. If they thought they had enough drivers, 2 would have made more sense for now, even if they were just 2 of the 3 with a long and a short gap.
What happened?
Nothing currently shown on Traksy as being stuck in the Norton Bridge area. It's apparently still stuck near Norton Bridge!

Wasn't very well planned then, because he'll still moan. It's just designed to keep Andy Burnham quiet, regardless of whether they can actually run the services.
Diverted and terminated at Macclesfield for return working. The Curious Case Of the Vanishing Voyager?!
The Ghost of Cross Country Past, Présent and Future?!
It got its 2nd tph back and it isn't really a new timetable, just the old one has come back with a few improvements.Seems like Stoke has gotten loads more trains to Manchester from this new timetable (not that they will run)
Sure but seems like we've gone from 3tph in total (1x northern, 1 x XC and 1x AWC) to 5 tph (1x Northern, 2 x XC and 2 x AWC) so big improvement reallyIt got its 2nd tph back and it isn't really a new timetable, just the old one has come back with a few improvements.

Possibly because they may not have received data updates from Network Rail?So why doesn't Real Time Trains say "Terminated at Macclesfield?" then?
