There was a time when "Mind the Gap" was all we needed!
Its only that bugs you? Not the new announcements.. telling you twice between each station the destination and that its a Southern Service...
I find that worse.

Have Southern started running slam-door stock again then?. . . Southern do remind all customers not to alight before the train has come to a complete stop, . . .
All that is needed is a concise "This is an important safety announcement. Southern do remind all customers not to alight before the train has come to a complete stop, and customers should take care of the gap between platform and train doors as this is an accident area. Any customers with disabilities or who do require assistance should ask for the assistance of train or station crew."
'Welcome to this C2C rail service'
Even if C2C did run buses, boats and aeroplanes, I can't think that there are many passengers who don't realise that it is a train they have just boarded.
jrhilton:1769364 said:"Passengers are request to use common sense while travelling on the railways" often seems like it is needed though.
But then some pedant would come along and point out that is should in fact be "Passengers are requested to use common sense..."![]()
One thing that always bugs me is the Croydon Tramlink's '
"Change there for" compared to TOCs' "Change here for" when announcing upcoming interchanges.
All that is needed is a concise "This is an important safety announcement. There is no question about this.If you are on the train it is Mind the gap between the train and the platform and if you are on the platform it is mind the gap between the platform and the train surely that is correct?
