Are you keeping Swansea as a diesel diagram?
Initally, yes, but eventually, wired up from cardiff, previous post edited.

If you run Worcester and Cheltenham as bi-mode though I expect you'd be able to get enough Voyagers from Virgin to cover Paddington to Plymouth and Penzance.Initally, yes, but eventually, wired up from cardiff, previous post edited.
As I said, I don't think it's that easy. The specification did not include a requirment for locomotive haulage off the wires but did include the requirment for the train to be able to split en route, not an easy thing to do if you have a locomotive. Hitachi met the specification and were selected as preferred bidders. I don't think you can just go and retender it.Solve a lot of problems and Sack Hitachi then
Solve a lot of problems and Sack Hitachi then... Just because they don't know how to make locomotives doesn't mean that Siemens don't.
And working this out on the back of a fag packet, Electrification of MML would release enough medirans to cover all the diesel diagrams left over outside of Paddington - Bristol & Cardiff - Swansea via Bath and Parkway and Oxford wiring. Crewe - Chester falls slightly short...
