Looking up a All Line Rover, looking at validity, I notice it is valid on the Ffestiniog railway, how did this come about?
Surely it would be the Ffestiniog who would ask for a change?
Presumably they are happy with a few people a year getting a free ride but buying food/drink etc?
Perhaps it's a quid pro quo for promoting the Ffestiniog Round Robin. The line does look pretty on the ALR map, whether or not they get anything for it.Historically, the ALR has allowed any benefits enjoyed by those using local rovers. In the case of the Ffestiniog, this used to be free of charge to users of the North Wales & Freedom of Wales rovers.
However, the Ffestiniog is no longer permitted on the local Welsh tickets (you get a 50% reduction instead) & this has been thecase for a few years now.
