I think you must bear in mind that not all forum sections require deep and thoughtful considered answers to points previously made to which you may agree or disagree.

The quiz section has many differing and different areas where multiple postings can be made, if your knowledge can cover these sections.

I speak as a new member of only 6 weeks standing. The fact that I have made 762 posts in that period of time is because I am retired and have more time to spend on the forum, especially if the weather is poor.

Indeed. During the fateful 24 hours not only was a "Mornington Crescent" thread started, but there were enough people on both the Guess the Station and Rolling Stock threads to make it easy to stack up posts. Add to that one Sam Bentley (the discussions around which saw another 3 of my posts deleted for referring to his) and lots of things I have an interest in in the main forum, and the ability to ensure there is enough decent stuff in my posts to stop them being deleted on sight and you have a winner.

I don't want to get that high again. It suggests that there is something wrong with me. Pursuing the most posts title is a little bit... over the top, if you ask me.

Then again it is me with more than 20 posts per day on average, and not someone else...

There are companies such as Nintendo who market hand-held electronic mind testing game systems for people to use to check their capacity for mental arithmatical problems, there are people like my wife who does The Daily Telegraph crossword and there are people like myself who use this forum, all with the same objective...to keep an inquisitive mind fully functional.

Anyone can sit in front of a television set watching programmes that do nothing to stimulate mental capacity and useage.

It makes sense sense for me to have RailUK as my homepage.

Rail UK doesn't seem to slow down my PC and it allows me to check for any new posts, which is more interesting than the dross you get on most web pages

This is why it is recognised as being one of the top rail forums available to people interested in all the total aspects of the subject, plus of course, the section on Metro/Light Rail/ Other Transport covers a vast amount of interest to members whose strengths lie in that direction.

Am I addicted? I must say I'm on here every day really, mostly just scouring the topics that interest me with a post if I so wish!

However, I am quite proud of being the first named member on the forums 'Most Users Online' on the home page!

Some people always seem to be viewing these fine forums, no matter what time of day or night I log on. I salute them for having good taste but would they consider themselves addicted?

Your thread certainly evoked much response from forum members. It does go to show that the varying sub-forums offer interest to a very wide range of contributors. It also shows that Rail UK Forums is the best of all such forums to use.

The 24-hour responses show that some forum members have to work unsociable hours and make their postings in the very late night/very early morning periods and have to sleep during the times when other members are awake in which to make their many postings.

Yes I know all that but there are some people who seem to be on morning, afternoon, evening and night, consistently!

In a typical day, I post between 7:30am-8:45pm, then I come back at around 17:30pm and post until eight or nine. I think the number of postings has died down since the demise of the counting in the Quiz Forum.

I always post (weekdays): 07:00-07:20 (then I'm off to catch the train to school); and between 16:45-21:00. At the weekends I post anytime between 07:00 and about 9ish
