I broke up on the 15th and go back on the 3rd

You should see the rubbish deal we get. Break up on the 15th also, but not back until the 9th. Sounds nice, right? Then you realise that we don't get our loans through until the day we go back...

I wouldn't say I am 'addicted'.

I post occasionally but not every day as I am busy, and when I'm not I try to get out and about, although I do like to have an hour or two when I can sit down and read any posts or threads that are interesting.

I have the 'Todays Post' URL saved in my Favourites Bar ( http://www.railforums.co.uk/search.php?do=getdaily ) and also in my mobile favourites... I wouldn't say I'm addicted eventhough when my PC's on - this is on!

From your profile you don't look addicted, I have joined around the same time as you and have posted a bit more! You seem to be 'normal' to me and not addicted...

That's exactly what I do!!!!! Check emails and then it's Rail Forums! If there aren't any new posts, I'll mess around on Railworks until there are!

No, most of my posts are very short - I was thinking about those posters who spend time tapping out reasoned arguments and detailed responses - those who make more sensible contributions than myself!

Same here. Life is boring when everyone agrees with your point of view. In addition you learn a lot more from those who disagree

I also post in general discussion more often because I'm not as au fait with the NR sections are some members

HST Power - I think you mentioned on GTS about getting 98 posts in one day, and wondered if anyone could better it. I can. I got 138 posts in one day once, for which I was infracted and received an official warning, and was the catalyst for spending about 4 months of my time on here on mod. Top that :P

Why would you get a warning for posting 138 posts in a day? Was most of it considered 'spam'?

There seems to be a tendency for every new piece of software to try and set itself up as my homepage, which is particularly annoying since they usually use far too much data and slow everything down.

Rail UK doesn't seem to slow down my PC and it allows me to check for any new posts, which is more interesting than the dross you get on most of these web pages

I remember that when I used windows, nowadays I tend to use google since it's simple, I have the bookmark toolbar to access RailUK as well as other common sites (such as the xkcd RSS feed)

Why'd you get a warning? I was told to slow my count down by Yorkie, but I've never had an actual warning!

A fair bit of the time it's drivel which doesn't though. Something to think about - "Does your post contribute any meaningful discussion?". We don;t want a forum which is over-run with posts by a few, meaning any outsider may feel that the forum is dominated by a 'clique'.

You should be very careful about applying that criteria to peoples' posts. What's not meaningful to you may be meaningful to somebody else and if you act on your own personal belief, you stand accused of being censorious. Having said all that, I feel the moderation team do a good job on the whole and generally let things flow. So thanks

I'll confess, I'd probably do best to take theblackwatch's advice! I have had a few posts deleted for adding nothing to the topic. Though it's good that there is a clear stance on forum rules. I helped one of my old school friends set up a forum a few years back and within five minutes the place went haywire!
