Some people always seem to be viewing these fine forums, no matter what time of day or night I log on. I salute them for having good taste but would they consider themselves addicted? Volunteers needed to verify my observation! :)

I expect quite a lot of people on here either are students, work nightshifts or suffer from insomnia. Plus, when you only have 5 TV channels and there is nothing on, it is something good to read. Apart from when you have a dissertation to finish that is...

I can claim to be only one of 18 members to have been on here from 2359 31/12/2010 to 0001 01/01/2011 :D

I can go days without it, but once I get on, I'm on. And there's nowt on telly these days.

I spent an hour replying to a topic once. I started at 0059 and ended at 0201

Does anyone else use their mobile to check the site (without having a pressing query)

If I need to know something urgently or if I've got absolutely nothing else to do. I only day up to £1 daily for the Internet anyway when I use it, so if I'm on, I tend to stay for a while (10 min or so).

My mobile is too old for that kind of thing!

I can probably claim to have spent the longest on without a break. I've done 13 hours without a pause (apart from toilet/food etc, but even then without logging off) before now... :?

I was on OpenTTD during the first second of 2011. I probably would have been on here if I hadn't been on near-hiatus (which would continue for only a week or so more).

I know that I'll show up as being online pretty much all the time, because my laptop is on the majority of the time. I also have a fairly irregular sleeping pattern just now, so I'm quite often here at odd times.

Heh, I doubt it

Ah, touché!

I would be able to (based on post counts), but er... I've posted too much of late. At some point during the MHC thread's life I was on for about 13 hours straight. Most people would not have posted enough since to remove those posts from the most recent 500 they have made, but alas...

If the answer is yes, I suspect that I might be in for a rollicking :(

I've just had a little look at the members' list, and I am now up to 23rd (still three behind you). I've just overtaken two major forum staples :?

N.B.: You will receive a Visitor Message within the next two minutes.

I can become addicted and yes I do check the forum on my phone when I'm away from a computer:oops:

I tend to flick between this forum, plus Airliners.net and PPruNE for the planes:lol:.

I'm on a footie one which from what I can gather isn't moderated - got so fed up of being given **** that I've been inactive for about half a year now. Suprising really as it's famous, but not for the forum.

I'm also the sort that nips in and out. I regularly check in during the day (at least when I'm near my computer) open up any new threads in a bunch of tabs (how did we get by before tabbed browsing!) read them, post if I feel the need and then I'm on my way to pastures new for a while until I come back and repeat.

A true transport connoisseur!!! (Hope I've spelt that correctly!)

Thanks:lol: I think I'm on a tram/light rail one as well (although I've not been on that for about 6 months - it's a bit boring) plus now Northern Railways. I'm also on a a few non-transport ones but again they aren't that interesting.

I know what you mean - some forums without moderators are an absolute nightmare, full of spam and idiots. Although it can go to the other extreme, one of the global aviation ones I'm on (I won't say which one) is gigantic with thousands upon thousands of posters and some of the moderators think they're gods and run the place like an oppressive dictatorship!

Yes, I am probably an addict. As soon as I turn the computer on I feel the urge to log in. Though I don't use a mobile to do so, and if I am away I can quite happily forget about this site!

(Except when I was playing with an Ipad2 in Cardiff's Apple shop, when I had to log on to here to see if it was any good!)

I think the moderation is just about right on here. And besides, even though you can't hear or see people on here, you do get attached to the various regular posters. Would love to come to a meet one day and meet some of you

I think being "addicted" to the forum kind of comes with the moderator position! It is usually the first site I visit when I go onto the PC. On a side note its nice to hear people are happy with the moderation :)

The only reason that I am on here at all sorts of strange times is due to shift work. Also, although I have been logged into here for (at a guess) over an hour now, I have not been on here all that time as have been busy doing other things as well ;)

Addicted to the site? Well, maybe.......the only reason I spend as much time on here as I do is down to being confined to a room with a computer available for several hours at stretch at times. Can quite happily go for days / weeks without access when on holiday and can't say I have ever suffered "withdrawal symptoms" when that happens.
