Just been for a walk with my wife, and I can't remember such temperatures since the major heatwave Letchworth received in the summer of 03/04. I'm very glad that this time next month, I will be in South Africa, where it'll be winter and much colder.

I've been cooked to death down the local airport this afternoon. Hopefully the sunshine has made for nice photos but God was I glad of a cold drink and an ice cream when I got home! The forecast thunderstorms tomorrow evening shall be most welcome!

It's like not only my prediction for rain / cool termperatures for Western Scotland was correct (with acknowledgement to both BBC Weather and Metcheck UK)....and now it appears that WestCoast on the Fylde is having some poor weather on the west side of the country.

In Newcastle it has been hot all day, almost unpleasent, however the breeze helps. It is still warm as we approach the night.

We have a micro-climate here, especially in Winter. A few years ago, I remember the whole country was covered in snow. While the Fylde had nothing, Preston was covered. It wasn't quite like that this Winter, but we still had less snow.

It's slightly warmer than usual, not out of the ordinary.

I use factor 50 and apply every half hour and I still burnt! Needless to say my level of unimpressed is rather high! FWIW, it's the same in Birmingham, at least this part of Brum since I declined to go anywhere today! Probably worse in the centre of town

Speak for yourself, I love rain - it's my third favourite weather after snow and ice which are essentially impossible until the good weather returns in winter.

Warm is subjective, to me >11C is warm and anything above 17C is hot. In case you're interested the boundary for cold is -3C or when the water I'm carrying freezes.

Fully agree.

Though as far as heat overseas goes, I actually don't mind that. I've been to Dubai and the Maldives on multiple occasions and the heat there is actually quite nice, mainly because there's a pool/ocean every couple of minutes along your way!

Sheffield still a sweat box. At around 11 a.m i finally gave in. Got myself and my lobster arms in the car, filled up with diesel, and then let my air con rip. Four hours of blissful coldness followed....

Now i'm burning up again! wheres that hose pipe.....
