87002 & 86101 Serco Sleeper

I know it's clutching at straws but in the event of a problem with a 92 on the sleepers could 87002 or 86101 be used to haul the sleeper as well as ECS movements??

I'm not so sure about the 86's but I believe GBRf has said that in the event of a 92 being unavailable, 87002 Can haul the Sleeper on its own.

GBRf will have 7 Class 92s available for the sleeper, so you would hope they wouldn't have to resort to the 86's and 87 for the big drag!

87002 and 86101 were in the shed at Willesden. Both are painted in the rather striking deep blue livery. Also resident was 92043 inside of the shed and 92044 parked outside.

It might be a rare occurrance, but definitely possible if, as said 87002 has been marked as capable. Would be great to see them do it again!

They will/should/probably work drawbacks when sleepers are via East Coast.

If anyone wants the can and therefore fancies splitting a booking on both trains to be exchanged depending on locos let me knoe, maybe!!

AFAIK, the 86s don't have a high enough ETS rating to power the full sleeper set, which leaves only 87002 as a potential alternative to the 92s.

Unless perhaps 86101 got a higher ETS rating along with all its other modifications as effectively an 87 prototype?

It has the class standard ETH of 74, lower than the 95 of an 87

From what's been said I don't believe 86101 could supply sufficient ETS, but 87002 would seem a possibility if need be.

Was having a nose today and 87002's data panel claims a EH Index of 74. I'm presuming this is a cock up, given it also claims its an 87/1, rather than some paperwork exercise to prevent it working the sleepers?
