We are where we are. The net new services are the captive Curzon ones. Those can increase if justified. Maybe they become very discounted to attract people away from the WCML, even from Solihull, Coventry etc. - as that is where the capacity sits. Especially when it is OOC only, might be a tactic.
Everything else is constrained by the WCML. Even assuming Handsacre... until we can incrementally get to Crewe, there are no new trains north of Lichfield.
So that means:
1) Current trains via Coventry get stops added (all call at Watford, MKC, Rugby)
2) Additional paths will open from Euston WCML until Handsacre-ish - in reality, some extra LNR services which could turn at Tring, Bletchley, Northampton, Rugby. Unsure if Nuneaton would work. Those are helpful.
That's about it. If we could get onto the Cross Country line and head towards Derby, you could see some additional calls on the MML (no new paths but more semi-fast in the South Midlands and Home Counties) - again that's about it. It's all very bitty sadly, until you reach Crewe.
