The HoW is RA5.
It is, your point?
The HoW is RA5.
I thought people were debating the route availability, and the loading guage is 'W6A' if that means anything to anyone.
The only thing that poses a problem is are there any coaches around?
There's no worry about loading gauge, MK3s gave been down before, 175s have been down before, but only as an emergency stock move.

If not could Mk2's not be used as a short term plan, and if they could be Mk2a or b's that what be great 8)
There was talk of Arriva's MK2s
Where are those these days, I think they put them up for sale last year didn't they? Did the actually sell any? And if they did where are they now? WCRC?
(Sorry about all the questions, i'm not up to speed with Arriva stuff these days)
They didn't sell them, there at Long Marston in store. Still under Arriva ownership IIRC

Yea they are still owned by ATW, but aren't they meant to be used with 57/3's on CDF - Holyheads that ATW have a Grant for.....?
The HoW is RA5.
I'd not heard of this before! Knew that ATW were looking to make Cardiff-Holyhead a 'premier' service, hence all the rumours about them and the 180's. Certainly would be good to see something loco hauled back on the north wales route though! How many 57's and mk.2 sets?
Or is it just unsubstantiated rumour?
It would make sense if those coaches are used on the new Grand Union services, specially if they are going to be TnT. As these coaches are wired all the way through aren't they.
Are you sure about that, given that a very high percentage of tours over the line have been RA6+ locos for a good fifteen years? Its certainly not a 'strict' RA 5 line!
