Will 26038 visit any Preserved Railways in the near future so she can really stretch her legs?

Planned visit to the KWVR in a couple of weeks (hope Tim manages to find a suitable engine to take it there). Then on to Bo'ness I understand.

And possibly down to the SVR in the Autumn.

The 26 is leaving Barry in the week running up to the KWVR gala. Originally, a convoy was coming up from Swanage to pick it up then head north via the DFR. Don't know how the Swanage's 33's failure the other day will affect this.

it has affected it, currently there is nothing to bring the locos, but its being worked on and the gala is still a week and a half away.

Apparently the fault only stops it going mainline so i imagine not very serious. If you look on the diesel gala facebook event it copies an email where it is said that the 26 will come to kwvr at next oppurtunity.

I presume you mean the fault that 26038 has relates to it being towed on the Mainline?

Everyone felt a little downbeat earlier this week here at Barry on finding the bearing seal faults etc on 26038, but on the up side, the problem isn't too serious. However as the materials lead time is a couple of weeks, unfortunately the loco can't be made ready in time for the KWVR Gala. We're moving 26038 to from our Main Shed to our New Works Shed shortly where the rectification work will be carried out as soon as the materials are received.
