Another 'shove' tour appeared on the IC website today - Class 47 debut at Oban, plus some rare track like Largs and Ardrossan Harbour.

Have taken the plunge and booked on this. Ardrossan Harbour VERY Required for Loco Haulage. Also possibly sine choice crossovers on Sunday given the order in which the Ayrshire Branches are listed. I know it may well all change but would think that they wouldn't want to go all the way back to Paisley (or even Glasgow) between Gourock and Wemyss Bay?
Similar between Ardrossan and Largs. Reversal at Kilwinning?

Is it just the Oban trip that has winner track for a Brush. Or has the East Anglia got any ?.

The East Anglian trip has some rare tack but nowhere a Brush hasn't been I believe. The East Suffolk line from Lowestoft to Ipswich is quite rare, for example.

Especially since the timetable got increased to be a hourly GA service passing at Beccles meaning paths are a tad tight.

Decided to flag the Oban tour with the 47 as the BLS website is showing a tour to Mallaig and Oban on the 7th to the 11th of March, as its a charity thing the traction may turn into something interesting

It won't be a 47, probably run-of-the-mill 37s or 66s. The IC job will most likely be the one and only trip to feature a 47 to Oban.

Thats a pity, although I'm not that surprised I think it would have sold much better with the 86 and 87 t&t, I can't remember a 86 there since the early 90s and I can't ever remember a 87 there

Hopefully They’ll add some London tours. Maybe a class 86/87/90 from Euston perhaps.

I remember 86s at Leeds on parcels and the odd charter. Has one been to Bradford or Skipton before? The latter seems less likely as the were restrictions on power hungry traction going there in the early electrified days.

Well that does make sense the cost of travel and hotel goes up in the week and thats before you take in needing days off etc.

Good to pass the Intercity East Anglian charter a couple of times yesterday then watch it depart Norwich 18:45 ECS for Vauxhall carriage sidings at Yarmouth for overnight stabling/servicing.

Just looked on realtime train's so see how day 2 is doing, said it left Norwich 239 minute's late at 1209 but at Thorpe junction was right time. Some processing error l presume!

It's what can happen if the same headcode passes a location twice. Computer doesn't know which occasion it refers to. Ideally you have a different headcode to prevent that.

Seems to have been a well planned tour, getting the only realistic East Suffolk line path is excellent, something other aspiring operators could learn from.

I must agree. One of the best organised tours I have been on. Not too rushed, good balance of routes for normals, Duff fans and track bashers. Well presented and immaculately clean rolling stock. Staff brilliant as well. Keep it up!

Well I for one enjoyed it it covered the two curves I was on it for, as well, as scooping up some lines I needed for a 47 the stock is a real treat other operators could learn loads from them, spoke to the train manager at Norwich and he's still confident on 45118 working in the summer sometime
