And as most people always reply to this, the Scotrail 170s are the only decent 170s!

To be fair, I have not travelled on another 170 that has been refurbed by its new operator since the shuffle last year, but the Centrals were awful...

I agree too that the Scottish TurboRats are the best in the country. Nothing to do with performance or those spherical objects, just that they are the nicest to ride in.
Although AXC's 170 refurb jobbie is not bad, certainly a lot nicer than it was before!
The CT 170s are absolutely awful, how anyone could travel on them I don't know. I did it every time I went to Derby last year, I don't know how I got there and back without getting seriously annoyed. The LM refurb is nicer, although there are plenty of signs of CT everywhere you look on most of them still yet.
AXC's number of unrefurbished 170s is terrible, they've had a year to do it now and they've hardly scratched the surface.
Either way, when I go to Scotland in December I might be getting on some Scottish TurboRats, I should hopefully enjoy the experience.
