London can mean Willesden, Wembley, Chessington, Angerstein, Cliffe, Grain, Bristol East, Quainton, Plumstead (if and when), + any other sites that may appear.. but lodging is a regular occurence and you could be anywhere and everywhere
My suggestions would be., only do what you’re trained to do (i.e. you’re not a doctor), don’t be afraid to challenge unsafe situations (even if a more experienced person says something)., I’m sure there’s more, just can’t remember what they asked now..
It was 12 weeks lodging away from home in classroom setting, maybe basic traction.. after that you move to home depot to do (I assume), routes and handling hours
A lovely 4 hour drive on a Sunday night for you., make sure you use your full dinner allowance everyday! £25 worth of maccy Ds a day and you’ll soon look like a proper driver.
2 years productive mainline now, but we regularly go down to the maritime to cover etc
Eastleigh driver here.. i would hope.. given they've just refurbished all things FL at Eastleigh, and your location being Eastleigh.. that they may try and make use of the meeting room they now have there..
there are going to be a good deal of vacancies at Eastleigh by year end, so hopefully...
Potentially a stupid question.. however.. should one already have passed the level 3 train driver apprenticeship elsewhere, does this make you ineligible? I have applied regardless as you never know what’s happening internally..
I once said I was tired to the person training me.. I had to submit my hours worked in my second job and be monitored for fatigue for 4 months.. ultimately management didn't care, it was more of a tool to emphasise the importance of avoiding fatigue. My second job pays £21 on a Sunday and £45...

Training in Tilbury, Home Depot is Eastleigh.
I emailed and got a reply stating “the scheme will run out of reading with vehicles...
woking-specific - 7 new ones just finished/finishing training including myself.. I'm leaving to go drive, and there's a number retiring soon, so there is the potential for some vacancies to arise.. but I personally wouldn't expect much movement for several months.. await the intro of 701s
Looks like it.. i had to turn down Southampton with an august start date as we have a newborn early September., so pleased I didn’t have to wait that long!
Hello! Got my call.. intermodal driver out of Eastleigh.. was 6th on waiting list prior to this..
Weeks 1-11 21939
Weeks 12-49 28208
Week 50+ 51765 with pay being negotiated end of this year
suggestion was that training will take place in Tilbury (most likely) or Crewe.
Agree with stations in order first.. and ultimately I did my guard's route learning by exceptions and patterns.. if a platform curves with you, nearly always a banner repeater, and if it curves against you/island platform, you get an off indicator. No starter signal at Norbiton.. starter signals...
Until my coaching the week before I hadn't needed to leave the house before 7 since November., training school and GIs don't like to start early. I was fine until 3am, but then I laid down next to my son to settle him and went out like a light waking up at 6.. just embarrassing.
I've got 1 week...
