It makes no difference where people live I am afraid. I was in a group of 10 that trained in Birmingham, only 3 of the group were for Birmingham and the other 7 were for more southern based depots. The group after us were trained in Westbury and most of them were based up north. There didn’t...
@Stigy is correct. You will do the paper based tests initially and if you pass those then the computer based tests will be on another day. These are generally held at the OPC in Watford as they have the necessary equipment to carry out the tests there.
Good luck with it all, it is a long process so patience is key. Make the most of the practice material the OPC send you and you will give yourself the best shot.
The tests will be emailed to you from the OPC directly. You don’t need to have an account or anything. Good luck.

The vacancy has closed now. As with most trainee vacancies they receive 1000’s of applications so often close very quickly.
I started with FL this week, our training is in Birmingham and only 3 of the group of 12 are for the Birmingham depot they are trying to get the training done where they can. Can’t speak highly enough of our experiences so far.
As @Stigy mentioned, they provide a hire car which is delivered to...
I start in two weeks. My training is in Birmingham and I will be based at Eastleigh too. HR advised that a hire car will be provided to get me to and from the training. The car being delivered to my house each Sunday and being picked up from here too.
The reply you got would appear your...
I went through this process for the 1 Bournemouth vacancy, you couldn't change the location when applying but they said they would allocate accordingly. I was interviewed by the depot and area manager for Bournemouth so the allocation process worked. From speaking to a XC driver a lot of the...
I have had my medical, completed my right to work and sent by my signed contract and still haven't handed in my notice as I want to leave it as long as I can. FL HR advised me that 6 weeks prior to start date was enough time for them as long as the important parts such as the DBS check, medical...
The October group is being trained in Birmingham, I know that there are at least 4 other people along with me that are going to Eastleigh IM in that group. @djack123son looks like you will be joining us just a month later if you are in the November group?
I know they are very busy on boarding trainees at the moment. There is an August group, October group (which I am on) and Cara mentioned the November group to me too the other day when she was explaining how busy they were with new groups.
Yes I have, medical and DBS check done too. Start date 18th October in Birmingham. I was told 5 people on the course are for Eastleigh intermodal. Are you the same mate?
Generally I found all the tests on the day easier than I anticipated, computer based ones as part of stage 2 were trickier. MMI will always the toughest part for me. It’s important to try and stay relaxed and don’t put too much pressure on yourself.
