Today (Fri 26th) had several cancellations on the Snow Hills and apparently on the Shrewsburys, with at one stage virtually every other train between Worcester and Snow Hill cancelled due to train crew issues

Yes, they are purchases, not leases. National Express WM leased them from Dawsons rentals new for the 9/141 Halesowen - Birmingham corridor. One of them is a reregistration due to a horrific incident which forced its internal transfer between depots (which is why there is no BX09 PFZ) in 2013/2014.
The 61 plates are former National Express Dundee Volvo B7RLEs that they sold to McGills when Dundee was disposed of. The 48xxs mentioned of National Express West Midlands are Enviro400s of 2009 vintage, and the 68 plates are ex First Group Enviro200MMCs.
Tom Stables, the former National Express UK and Germany CEO, is the CEO for this venture.
