Bringing this back up I saw a video on YouTube where two 91’s with both pantographs were being prepared for testing on the Midland Mainline on the East Coast Mainline. So two 91’s working together can work on the East Coast. Can this now be applied to passenger service.

I see that it would not make much time but if there was investment in that area allowing for 125 running from KGX to Hitchin then that would be reasonable. Don't forget from 2021 services will be sped up out of King's Cross and having 100mph stock on a line with now 8tph 125 paths will mean that...

When Great Northern finishes in 2021 my idea would be to:
Transfer the current ECML stopping services over to Thameslink (Moorgate to Welwyn GC) to create something of a Sevenoaks to Welwyn Garden City all day with say 12 coaches matching the same capacity as before.

I was wondering why it is that on the ECML that the line going Northwards up towards Scotland is called Down line and the line going Southwards down towards London is called Up line.
