Paignton station footbridge on fire 21/07/26

...and presumably the station has CCTV?

Man in court for setting fire to fellow worker

Absolutely. Even if the person's overalls hadn't been unzipped, setting fire to petrol spilt down someone's front would be a seriously bad idea - it's always going to get the face, if nothing else.

Man in court for setting fire to fellow worker

I was genuinely astonished to read this report. "Industry-accepted horseplay" sounds alarming to say the least. Thoughts with the person who was injured and will be living with the consequences. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/man-set-colleagues-clothes-fire-33989029

Major disruption at Leeds - loss of signalling

Currently sat on Leeds station... A few services arriving and leaving but not much. Passengers are being held on the concourse.

    Set down only at Rugby

I've been refused boarding at Euston before now when I had a split at Milton Keynes. In that case, I actually genuinely didn't know that it was a restricted stop as it wasn't shown in the app I was using. But I agree entirely that it's underhanded and I can't see any reason for it other than...

Signalling failure between Banbury and Leamington Spa 5/11

I'm currently sat on a train stuck at Bicester North because of a signalling failure between Banbury and Leamington. Anyone know anything more about what's happening? From the on train announcements it sounds like a severe problem.

    Midland Mainline pricing anomaly

Are seat reservations possible on that route? It might be worth getting them to show you were reserved onto that train with that ticket.

Working TPE 'journey planner' TVM won't sell me a valid ticket - ombudsman response

I'd've thought you've got nothing to lose by writing to TPE to complain about their TVMs and to ask for a refund of £4.30.

High fares - The issue that won't go away

I also think most people think train companies control the price of train fares while they know it's the government that controls fuel duty so the government doesn't get (so much of) the blame when rail fares rise.

Lumo - passenger experience criticised in Which? review

On food, tbh, there are very few train journeys in the UK where I would rely on being able to get food on board. If I know I'll need a meal during the journey, I get something to bring with me before boarding (or when changing trains).

Cross Country (XC) First Class service

Hadn't travelled 1st on CrossCountry for ages until the other day. Not sign of any food at all, mixer size lemonade and a small sparkling water. Feels very stingy!

We stayed in the Walthamstow Travelodge recently which is adjacent to Walthamstow Central. You can park in the station car park.

Help please: accused of buying ticket on the train

Your personal email address is showing on the pdf - you might want to replace it with a redacted version.

Almost got trapped inside Leamington Spa station for the night

There's a pathway down through the garden at the London end of platform 2 - I've seen people using it during the day (I assume evading fares). If I were stranded and there were no staff around, I think that would be my first port of call.

Cross Country treating customers as sardines

I have no interest in complaining for the sake of complaining: what I want is to be able to catch the train in a comfortable and safe manner. Obviously they're not going to write back and say 'Thank you for your letter fairlie, we've just ordered loads more trains on next day delivery'. However...

Cross Country treating customers as sardines

I've complained several times to XC about overcrowding. My most recent was a journey from Reading to Leamington Spa - I had a seat reservation which I managed to occupy but the aisles were all so full of people and luggage that it was an absolute battle to get off and I nearly didn't manage it...

    Trainsplit survey

I've done it but found it quite annoying that it seemed constantly to be trying to direct you towards saying you'd choose different days, times and destinations to save money. Most of my train journeys are to somewhere particular for a particular reason, so no I can't decide to go somewhere else...

    Chiltern delay repay appeal

The crowding on the platform means I honestly don't think I could have caught 1H22. The following one would have been over two hours. Even if I had travelled on to Marylebone on the first train I could have got on, I think the delay would have been over two hours. In my appeal I said that and...
