Great Northern Fleet - 379s introduction

7101 is at Hornsey. It has some more software updates and bits to be done on it before it goes out for more network testing.

AWS fault discussion (relating to 810015 on 1B67 near Bedford)

Depends on the Fitment. The Hitachi fleet appear to operate with TPWS & AWS separate to the DMI (not STM). So even in Level NTC (AWS/TPWS) you won't necessary get the Sunflower displayed on the DMI. On the Class 700/717 and 387 (GTR not HX) the TPWS & AWS are built into the DMI display (STM) and...

AWS fault discussion (relating to 810015 on 1B67 near Bedford)

If the 810s follow the 800s (etc), the TWPS & AWS Equipment is separate from the DMI.

    Class 700s Being 'Refreshed"

Indeed but the idea not to specify them at the time (like WiFI) was a poor decision by the DfT at the time. I wouldn't say Seat Back tables impacts Loading and Unloading Times. In my experience, most people have got their bag packed, tray table stowed and coffee cup in hand before the train has...

Great British Railways - First Train in New Livery

My TOC has Black Ends and Yellow Ends and Little Yellow Ends. It's the lights you see on the modern MU!

Great British Railways - First Train in New Livery

I feel it was a mistake not to go down the route of Sectors again. Like NSE, RR and Intercity. Nice and simple to split between your Longer Distance service and Commuter and Rural services. Maybe they will... but every train the same colour isn't the best idea (IMO). Quite like the Chiltern...

Class 701 'Aventra' trains for South Western Railway: progress updates

Depends on what you need to reset and the Fleet instruction.

Not sure on that for a DOO network!

Any other UK units that don't have traction interlock?

    It does these days, AFAIK.

How useful are pull-down tables on inner-suburban commuter trains?

Very Useful! Count the amount of commuters, and general off-peak passengers who use the Table for; Tea, Coffee, Food, Booze, Books, iPads, Laptops, Phones etc! Daft not having them this day and age. The 700s not having them was a terrible idea, I'm glad the change happened.

Class 701 'Aventra' trains for South Western Railway: progress updates

Is it? I actually thought it was more spacious than a 377/387/379 and definitely more than a 717! (Which only has emergency exit steps)

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

Smart Decision... who knows the future schemes! All new builds should come with it as standard! Thanks.

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

Trying to work out if the 810 is ETCS Ready (with the DMI having some ETCS functions showing...)

    Long formations on Southern Coastway

Usually, when Brighton & Hove Albion play at home the East Coastway (and sometimes West Coastway) services are extended to accommodate the 30000+ people who go to the Amex Stadium at Falmer.

    TPWS Isolation

Ultimately depends how the Train is rescued and moved. If you can Drive the formation from the Failed Unit there's not need to Isolate TPWS. If the unit is propelled, aka Pushed Dead, it would need isolating, as the Active Cab behind may set off the TPWS Grids... Propelling tends to be the...

    807/805 Speeds

No reason an 805/807 can't. They just can't do speeds that are "EPS" Speeds - which are for Tilting Trains.
