It's the Ebor Festival at York, there are usually significant numbers travelling down from the North East for the event, hence the 10 car.
There is a booked 10 car on a Sunday too now for general passenger loadings, should be 1A64/1N94.
Yeah drivers can use it, it's principally for dispatch though. Sighting of the platform starting signal for drivers is actually decent from a reasonably good distance back.
It was installed Xmas 2025 to meet current sighting standards for the platform starting signal.
Bridges around East Leeds are now being fitted with yellow signs warning of overhead live wires which suggests livening of the section as far as Cross Gates will be sooner rather than later...
East and West have different T&C's but also there were two sets of T&C's at Neville Hill between Northern and EMR, I'm not sure if these have been harnonised.
Significant numbers travelling to Leeds Festival and other events. Leeds Fest is also a substantial drain on the bus hire market which would mean RRB would be difficult to recruit.
The 156s have no real way to leave the North East with the Cumbrian Coast closed. The only way they'd rotate through to Barrow and then down to Preston/Manchester would be this way.
The driver on 2J65 didn't sign the route into North Western but did Wallgate so it was planned to divert, unfortunately the message didn't make it to the signaller hence the delay outside Wigan whilst the correct route was set.
