To add to more confusion for passengers at Northallerton:
So on weekends in January and 1st 2 weekends in February we keep the TPE Newcastle Liverpool services calling at Northallerton at the times they currently do. Then we have 5 weekends of Durham Coast diverts so no TPE Newcastle services...
I'm sorry you feel this way. We are talking about ticket offices so no commission is made sorry.
It takes away the abuse we get for not being able to retail a ticket that the passenger can see on their phone but can only pay cash. Which is a good amount of people on Teesside. Also them people...
Evening all. Some amazing news in that Northern advance tickets for travel on the day will be available from ticket offices next month. This is down to some amazing work by some of my amazing colleagues putting serious pressure on Northern to reverse its decision a couple of years ago to take...
Feel sorry for the 1 member of staff at Northallerton that suddenly had 100 odd passengers dumped on her with no ticket acceptance and them all baying for blood. I'm sure someone from GC will be in touch to apologise and thank her for having to sort them all out.
There is certainly no UBER in...
Not enough staff to cover holidays sorry. At least we are still working long hours to try and cover as much as possible. But working 10 days in a row and long shifts is taking its toll sadly.
I’ll check the original e mail to see what it said about sharing the info :)

Alas not to be shared sorry. All I would say is that not every TPE stopping service would be replaced by LNER.
Still waiting to see these 'shuttles' appear in real time trains or any other website/internal system.
What I can't get my head around is where LNER have 2 sets lying about to run these shuttles and surely these shuttles are not what LNER are here for?
How did they get signed off by DFT as they...
It certainly is a very large flow for us at Northallerton. People are getting wind of the December timetable and it’s not going down well. But we shall see if these LNER York to Newcastle shuttles appear as we’ve been told.
This whole idea from the Government/Rail delivery group is disgusting.
They are telling me that the £1m worth of ticket sales we currently do at NTR will 100% be kept when the ticket office is pulled out,no chance.
Cutting staffed hours to just 7 from 13 a day is a joke. 60% of our assist are in...
Sick to death of the comments from the government about needing to get out from behind the glass more!
If they took the time to visit us all in the North East they would see us doing all sorts out from behind the glass. Who do they think does:
Laying of ramps
Provide sighted guidance
Ensure on...
With working at Middlesbrough from time to time including 2 12 hour shifts over the weekend it is a very busy ticket office throughout the day. I’ve seen this stat about 1in 8 tickets are sold in ticket offices, well having seen the figures for Middlesbrough this is close to 1 in 5 and even 1...
Just out of curiosity what ticket type did you buy at the beginning? Did the tickets come with seat reservations?
Just with you saying the sleeper tickets havent cost much more the originals sound very expensive for lumo that's all sorry.
Tomorrow is going to be a total disaster! I've seen the list of cancellations tomorrow and it is embarrassing. A shed load of Newcastle to Manchester Piccadilly services binned. Which has a big effect on passengers attempting to travel between Northallerton and Darlington/Newcastle has it was...
They list Chester Le Street also. Which was never ran by Northern when it was open and closed in March 2018.
As with when they tried to close some ticket offices and reduce hours in of others in Scotland it will be met with massive backlash and some u turns will happen. Whenever this is in terms...
Had to think really hard how to word a reply to this thread without seem to have a rant.
I work at a fairly busy East Coast Main Line station ticket office. My title is a customer service supervisor. This means that I sell tickets, look after the place, make sure LNER and Grand Central Trains...
The cheaper fare can only be bought on line. So if you turn up at station or buy on board it is more expensive when you require a off peak single. The reasoning was to see how many people would buy the cheaper on line far versus the on board/ at station ticket. Also they would not lose 9% of the...
