Hi Emily. I declined the interview in the end as I had received confirmation of passing my medical for Colas Rail.

Colas normally use Express Medicals. Mine was London near Canada Water. They told me I'd passed on the day with just the 3 day wait on D&A. Will see you all there I suspect. Although I probably won't be in crewe until around 10pm.

I know exactly what you mean! When did you have it? I'd email Carl or Andrew. Although Carl isn't back in until Monday. They're pretty good at chasing others or responding directly.

In fairness I chased them to confirm the medical result as my current job required confirmation I was leaving on the agreed date. I was however, verbally given a pass for the medical at the time it was done (with the exception of the D & A).

I did old assessments with GA in September. They invited me to DM interview which I declined as I've accepted a position elsewhere. For what it's worth.

I received confirmation from Colas yesterday that I passed the medical so looks like I'm all set for the 13th in Crewe. Guess we'll all hear more in the next mad 10 days!

I emailed them straight after the last ad went up and ensured I was still on thie minds. They said my application would be picked up from where it left off. They then called me on Tuesday afternoon (I think).

It appears they do. I did my assessments with GA in September (old Style) they called me to arrange a DM interview next month.

It will vary from depot to depot from what I've heard. A friend was at depot for 18-24 months (he was an internal applicant with train crew experience already) but it was a quieter depot than say Ilford, where he said it's quicker to promote to mainline.

I did wonder that but wasn't 100% sure! Although it's changed again :D
