OK I think I get it now. How would a ticket inspector at Bicester Village know whether I’d gone through Swindon or Basingstoke?

Sorry, I’m confused. Bicester village is on the shortest route from Honiton to princes R. Some posters above indicated it would be valid but you’re saying it’s not? Are you saying it’s only valid to travel via Kings Sutton?

So the answer to the original enquiry is no. The ticket Exeter Central to Princes Risborough via Honiton is not valid via Basingstoke, Reading, and Oxford??

So yes it is not valid on direct trains between Stratford and Barking.

I agree that easement 700479 "Customers travelling from Hull to York in possession of tickets routed "not via Doncaster" may not travel via Leeds. This easement applies in both directions" is redundant and so does imply that the route was once valid.
