90029 travelled light engine this afternoon from Bounds Green to Doncaster West Yard (0Z90). Booked as a VTEC service, strangely timed for 74mph on RTT, took about four hours as it dropped into various loops en route.

Just curious how it had turned, can't recall seeing one this way round in recent years. I know there's a few places it could happen.

Noticed a VTEC set heading south yesterday with the 91 at southern end, and again heading north on Sunday afternoon (think it was 1S22 KX - Edinburgh). Not sure of the number, just saw it flash by at a level crossing.

Also means no Sheffield -Cleethorpes via Brigg line services on Saturday 17 June - understand this will be Rail Replacement Bus throughout. Shame on a summer Saturday for this line.

The underground trip is fantastic but can get busy in the school holidays. Last year booked soon after opening time and went back for trip late in afternoon.

Was thinking more about a service via Doncaster and not a continuation of the current Lincoln - Sheffield service (which is what I think Northern are proposing)

Passengers change at Worksop/Retford/Gainsborough for onward trains to Cleethorpes via Brigg. Hmmm if only! Brigg line might see some more freight in next day or two (if boxes are open).

Lincoln are up in arms about the High St crossing being down (as usual). There are plans to pedestrianise the area south of the crossing at which stage drivers will need to get on with it! Already have two good high bridges over the railway for through traffic.

No idea - but there was discussion elsewhere about EC getting a 180 to serve its Lincoln service (where the current HST is too long for the station...), this idea might be resurrected?
