Not a stupid question. I suspect that the engines and fuel tanks are only a relatively small part of the overall weight. I don't think I've ever seen one on the road in the UK, but they were very popular as hire cars around the Med. Crete had loads of them. A few weeks back I saw this Mini convertible in Mirfield. The Rover 75 next to it doesn't quite qualify but has clearly been well loved!
