    Anyone live beside the railway.

I live right above Laira Deopt, my office window overlooks the Carriage Sidings and the Mount Gould Jcn as well as a good view of the HST Shed!

    Admiralty Platform,Plymouth.

From my ten years plus of visiting Devonport Dockyard, the last locomotive to visit the Island platform was indeed the GBRf Class 66 (HMS Argyll) in 2017. It's the only time i've ever seen a train on that strech on line. There has never been a passenger service in the ten years I've been...

    Azuma Rough Riding

Maybe an email to LNERs customer services team might be more appropriate with the details of what you experienced, where you sat, what you felt etc (maybe even the unit number) so that they can pass it on to the fitters?

Train Cancelled Due To High Pollen Count

Kind of. The T45 platform uses two Gas turbine alternators to generate a high voltage to push the ship through the water via an electric motor. In order to reduce fuel, a recuperator was fitted to the intake where a percentage of exhaust gasses was taken, mixed with intake air in order to heat...

Train Cancelled Due To High Pollen Count

I've got nine years experience with running valenta engines (albeit in a maritime application) and our air intakes are continually blocking with pollen, sand, rubbish and general natural detritus. You know when the air intake filters need changing as the engine scream is a lot louder at lower...

There has been a few things going on in the SW this weekend. There's a food festival at Exeter as well as Lockdown Festival which could explain the use for camping equipment etc.

Is there some sort of ID card for train drivers?

This has the potential to be a massive security issue, and I doubt anyone will respond to your request. I certainly wouldn't post a copy of my ID card on the web!

    Valenta 12RPA Load Trial

Recently I have been working with MAN Diesels on load trialing a Paxman Valenta 12RPA. I managed to get a quick vid just as the engine was working up to 100% Load. If you listen carefully you'll hear the turbocharger whistling away! http://youtu.be/F681jSvz4c8 They are lovely little...

    Dawlish sea wall collapse

I think this does still prove that when push comes to shove - the UK with all it's engineering heritage can actually pull together a fantastic feat of design and engineering on time, to a fairly small budget (in the great scheme of things!) and get a service back to the South West. If only...
