    Best route is train to Nuneaton then connecting train to Lime Street. You could do into London Liverpool Street then tube to Euston then train again to Lime Street.

    Mendips to Acton stone trains are an obvious target. Wiring it and getting improvements in passenger trains as an extra benefit.

    I remember in the 1970s I used to have a damned DMU from Inverness to Aberdeen. I was really pleased in the 1980s when a huge number of trains in Scotland went to loco hauled.
