Do you know for sure that there aren’t enough EMUs for East Kilbride? Ayr and Gourock are both still 2tph down. Even allowing for the extra 1tph to Wemyss Bay and 1 EMU per hour to Barrhead there should be enough slack in the fleet to cover East Kilbride.

When the procurement was originally announced a few years back there was talk of having fixed formation 5-car units with the same capacity as the current 6-car units. These would be ideal for the Argyle Line.
