Hello all.
I'll be arriving at Stansted Airport on Thursday before going to a meeting at UCL, then on to a friend near to Elm Park (District Line). If I purchase an anytime single from Stansted Airport to London Zone 1256 will I be able to use it on the tube from Liverpool Street to Euston...
I buy most of my tickets (primarily for use well outside of the Southern region) from Southern (unless travelling EC advance tickets in which I use EC, TPE for 50% off YP advance singles, Virgin for half-savers etc), clicking through Topcashback for my 6.06% and paying using my Santander 123...
No Callie on Saturdays :( (best alternative is to try the Megabus sleeper from Glasgow, which does run Saturdays)
So if I ensure that the journey can't be completed tomorrow (6/10) because I happen to set off at 6pm down the west coast, it's completely kosher to just get on the train in...
I would like to arrive in London before the entire day has vanished on Sunday (7/10), so departing Edinburgh on the first services of the day is not a great option. I'm returning on 9/10 (not fussed about times or whether it's on a train). I have a YP railcard. Can getting to London for...
Yeah - have a flight to India first thing Monday morning.
Sounds like EMT are right misers.
I don't think I've been on a Meridian - but I assume it's really just a Voyager? Anything to be excited about? Personally, I like HSTs - anyway of checking the diagrams of specific EMT trains?
Sounds "scenic".
Edit: I note that I can get fares with East Midlands via Nottingham for cheaps in first as well. Anybody have an opinion on which I would do better in on a Sunday? Personal preference tends to be Virgin, but I haven't travelled East Midlands since Midland Mainline, so maybe...
Apologies if I've posted in the wrong subforum - please move if appropriate.
Having had a flight from Manchester to Heathrow rescheduled (apparently a departure 2 hours earlier is 'nothing') by bmi, I'm looking at alternatives. I had originally written off travelling by train due to the...
Know all about the £10 fee - this ticket is already a rebooked fare from a while back when I managed to miss the train but call the web sales centre before it departed to rearrange it! Was looking for a solution that was cost free ;)
Not banking on it. But you think a guard rather than someone...
My other half is booked to travel on the 21:51 from Euston to Stockport tomorrow evening, officially arriving into Stockport at god-awful-o'clock (hopefully a little earlier though as it's set down only from Stafford onwards). However, she reckons she's overestimated the time she needs to get to...
So what about when the Northern ticket office at my local is open and I turn up in good time - say ten minutes prior to departure - and get stuck behind someone who is thinking about going to London next Saturday. Do you seriously suggest that I should have to miss my train for that? Likewise...
Aye - railcard seems fine. Squinting at the fare enough seems to confirm what you say - and of course there's the good old excuse of "the travel planner told me to - here's my email confirmation showing it". Thanks all for help.
Ah, good catch. I just spotted this too. The only slightly worrying thing is the LM planner appears to suggest I catch a Virgin service from Euston - despite the ticket not being valid!
What is the best value fare from Woolwich Dockyard to Milton Keynes?
Travelling on Friday, have 16-25 railcard, have oyster loaded with said railcard. Advance purchase singles are out (don't know when in the day I'm coming back) - need to arrive in MK before lunch. There's a whole myriad of...
