No. But I expect to be believed. I am a fare paying passenger who has done nothing wrong. table38 highlights the problems faced when boarding at unmanned stations and trying to buy evening returns after making connections excellently.
Yeah - unfortunately come against that kind of attitude from both G4S and ATW quite frequently. In many cases I've been denied the opportunity to purchase the correct fare with applicable railcard discounts by ATW conductors despite that being my first opportunity to buy a ticket as I started...
1) I hate G4S
2) In my experience, every second spent with an ATW conductor is additional time in which they can lie and refuse to sell available tickets...
So a few more fares seem to have popped up now. And I had written confirmation from Virgin customer services (a week after my call) saying that there really had been a problem which has been "fixed". Was able to buy a ticket for the service I wanted on Tuesday and had one of the best experiences...

Although that doesn't in itself mean much - if I buy a ticket for my other half/family member it has my name at the bottom but giving it to them to use is clearly an acceptable transfer of ticket...
Yeah, they do now. Haven't heard back with any more news as yet, but just searched a fare and saw it was now available. So, extraordinarily, it may have been fixed...!
I've been in touch with Virgin today to ask about this. Apparently I have "uncovered a problem" which is in the hands of the "retail support team" - with someone in customer services reporting back to me. Their initial reasoning for the absence of tickets is that the train divides at Crewe...
Yes - I misuse the term "exist" here! The fare can be found (both discounted and undiscounted) yet doesn't seem to be bookable anywhere (have tried the usual booking engines) for any particular date (next week or in July/August).
I wonder if anyone could shed any light on why advance first class fares don't seem to exist specifically between Crewe and Holyhead on the 10:49 Virgin service. Fares are available (both with and without a railcard) from London, Milton Keynes and Chester - but inexplicably not Crewe. Any...
