Just saw this on Railcam at Watford, and checked out its routing, thinking it might go through Nuneaton up the Trent Valley. Found out it now goes via Coventry-Bescot- Penkridge. When did this occur and is it the norm? Why is this?
I've noticed on Traksy that this was supposed to be heading along the Nuneaton-Coventry-Leamington line (that's what it is timetabled to do on the system), but is now at Rugby. Will this now use the Bletchley-Oxford line?
This is a general question about this particular Chiltern service, 1H30, the stock available and if there’s are any similar services which appear to be overcrowded after the rush hour.
As this is not classified as a peak time rush hour service, why Chiltern trains cannot add an addition unit...
Chiltern trains are not going into Marylebone due to a cable theft this morning. All trains terminate/start at West Ruislip. My train ( 1H30) is currently held at Gerrard’s Cross. Apparently, we should get moving soon. It’s creating a lot of problems on the Chiltern Line.
I was told a cable...
I bought a return ticket a few days ago for Euston - Birmingham International. Ticket is for 18.13 which has been cancelled. There’s an 18.09 service which I assume is a re-timetabling.
In any case I asked an Avanti staff member and they said my ticket can be used on any train. By stroke of...
Most will recall the Buncefield fire and explosion in December 2005. Where there any impacts on the WCML, or was it far enough away from any danger of damage? I imagine there were some delays?

Delays at Euston. “ Incident” at Bushey, according to the screens. I hope it’s not serious. I an at Euston now. It seems like things are working ok. Although it is a bit crowded.
Nightmarish today. 1 Voyager on 12.11 Leeds - New St ( from Edinburgh). Too many on the platform (12) , quite dangerous. Physically could not get on the train. Overcrowded. Then someone drops a bag between platform and train. Hopefully get on the 13.11 which is now 20 minutes late. Technically...
The Greens are endorsing building HS2 in full, at the Manchester Conference. There's been a lot of lobbying and discussion over time on this matter and it's good to see.
last Friday afternoon, I went to Polesworth and had a mooch on the station. What is happening (or not) there? One train northbound a day, it seems? Why is this and I'm sure it used to be served by many more trains.
I've been doing a little research into the WCML and it's post-Steam history. One issue which I am interested in , (and I am aware of some parts of this) is the Trent Valley Section modernisation. The obvious This is Rugby-Stafford. I am aware some parts were 4 tracked during early-mid 00s...
Am I correct in thinking since the 2004 Bourne End and Ledburn remodelling (as per the thread from 3 years back on this), all junctions South of Rugby/Northampton are 60mph crossovers?
Has anyone got any information on this. Post 2000s Modernisation, I know Virgin tripled the numbers of commuters in 2008 with VHF timetables. But how has it developed through BR days from 1980s to the present day? 80s/90s/00S / Post VHF?
I was watching Green signals video ( ) which talks...
I was talking with my father the other day and he remarked that he thought the WCML had fewer freight on it than in steam days. That was his era. He also said this when I were a lad. I think freight dropped off in the early 80s on some routes. But it got me thinking. How does the modern day WCML...
Just a quick question as I recall these EMUs frequently on the Wolverhampton to Birmingham stoppers, as well as locals and semi fasts to Euston.
Shen did they finish service? Mid 90s? And which routes did they finish on ?
Thanks in advance.
